Description: My husband and I went to Madrid, Tangier, and Paris in September 1974. We both take along 35mm cameras and take lots and lots of pictures. Now it's so much easier with digital cameras. Madrid surprised us at night since the cars drove around only using their dimmest lights. Watch out! In Malaga we stayed in a new, high-rise hotel, which was unusual for us, but it did have a balcony so we could see the Mediterranean. There we enjoyed giant plates of paella. We took a guided tour from Malaga on a tour bus (very, very early in the morning) to catch the ferry across Gilbraltar to Tangier. The boat was very pleasant and we sat on the deck sipping coffee. Our group was met with a local guide who took us around the casbah. You need a guide there or you will be hopelessly lost. The boat back to Spain was an entirely different experience: the Moroccan workers took the ferry for their jobs in Spain. By the time we got on board, there wasn't a seat anywhere to be found. And it was cold! We huddled behind a smoke stake when some kind people made room for us. That's what makes traveling so memorable--all the kind people. Of course, Paris is always wonderful and we spent an entire day at Versailles and didn't even see all of it. There are 171 slides in this group; none is copyrighted so you can use them as you wish.
