Description: This pencil signed etching by Jean Leon Gerome Ferris (1863-1930), American, is pencil signed lower right corner J.L.G. Ferris. Just above signature in plate G. Ferris '88. This etching is after a Spanish painter, Eduardo Zamocois (1842-1871) who is also in plate, lower left corner. This etching was removed from a large volume. I still has the protective tissue paper attached identifying Eduardo Zamocois as the painter. Gerome Ferris was the son of Stephen J. Ferris, American artist (1835-1915). This etching is done on chine colle and pressed onto a heavier stock as the plate line will attest to. Total paper size 12" x 15 1/2" and 8" x 10" from plate line to plate line. HM56
