Ernesto García Peña belongs to the so-called generation of the 70s of Cuban plastic arts, the first graduates of the National Art School of Cubanacan, and has developed his artistic work while contributing to the formation of new talents by serving as a teacher at various moments in his career. His work stands out for its connection between nature and metaphor, poetry and a hedonistic atmosphere where his characters persist: winged women, horses, and nude men. Precise drawing, spatial treatment, and the ability to conceive an infinite palette of colors and transparencies describe him accurately. Ernesto is that magician who captures and delivers that beautiful part of life, like an idyll where nature, love, and man coexist. That is why his figures dance, float in an exercise of strokes and symbols. Su obra se destaca por esa conexión entre la naturaleza y la metáfora, la poesía y una atmosfera hedonista donde persisten sus personajes; mujeres aladas, corceles y hombres desnudos. El dibujo preciso, el tratamiento espacial y la habilidad para concebir una paleta infinita de colores y transparencias, lo describirían con acierto. Ernesto es ese mago que atrapa y nos entrega esa parte bella de la vida, como un idilio donde cohabitan la naturaleza, el amor y el hombre. Por eso sus figuras danzan, flotan en un ejercicio de trazos y símbolos.
