A dynamic damping mechanism is used to reduce the inherent vibrations of each part of the arm and the effects of external vibrations. With this system, the tone arm pipe and main body are separate, and the arm can move freely up and down and left and right, but are connected with a flexible coupler that suppresses axial and rotational movement of the tone arm pipe, and the fulcrum side of the pipe is damped with a moderate viscoelastic material. This structure damps the vibrations that enter from the arm base and significantly reduces the inherent vibrations of each part that makes up the arm, and when measured by vibrating the arm base with a vibrator, an improvement of up to 15dB is achieved compared to a tone arm without a damping mechanism. When a magnet is brought close to the rotating drum, a rotational force is generated that pulls the tapered part from the narrow side to the wider side within the winding angle of the magnetic plate. This rotational torque is used to cancel the inside force. In the DA-309, the rotational torque for each needle pressure is adjusted by changing the distance between the rotating drum and the magnet. Since this system is a non-contact structure, it does not impair the performance of the tone arm, and it can follow the change in inside force due to the needle tip position of the cartridge on the record, so you can always obtain the appropriate amount of outside force.
