This is the no date 1917 issue but still displaying the old date of 1909 five Rubles. This vertical format nice sized colorful banknote has a blue-black design on a blue and multicolor background on the front and back. The front shows the image of double head imperil eagle top center while the back shows the imperial eagle in the center with a crown above it and a tiger's head under it. The note shows the denomination both on the front and back and has inscriptions in Cyrillic on both sides. The banknote displays the date (1909), two signatures one being I. Shipov, and the denomination on the front and only the denomination on the back. This particular note has the number Yb-452 displayed twice on the front, suggesting that the note is a Soviet Government issue. The note has water mark depicting the number 5 (the denomination) throughout. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description. Date: Dated 1909, but issued 1917. Pick Number: P 35a Condition: I would grade this banknote as a good very fine or better with all the details being very well preserved. The note has a few minor creases here and there, a small tear (~ 3/16") in the center of the left edge, a folded corner, bumps at the corners and some rounding at the corners. It also has some color loss along the top edge on the back. The note retains quite a bit of its original stiffness, crispiness, and sheen. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, and no stains. It is clean and is printed on light weight paper. The corners are intact with some bumps and rounding. A nice piece to add to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
