Description: I just purchased this hand tinted antique Charles Sawyer photograph at a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece is titled Mount Lafayette and shows rich coloration. It measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" (7" x 9" framed) and is in excellent condition. It is titled and signed in pencil under the photograph. Sawyer was noted for hand painting the photos with more color than his predecessors Wallace Nutting and Fred Thompson. In 1930 he moved to New Hampshire where this photo was produced.
