The print itself is in fine condition with some scuffing and foxing to the outer edges of the mount.Biography Cecil Aldin was a painter, born at Slough and educated at both Eastbourne College and Solihull Grammar School near Birmingham. He studied art at the RCA and later privately at the Frank Calderon School of Animal Painting. He became an expert horseman and was Master of the South Devonshire Hounds during World War I. Aldin illustrated a number of books and magazines including Graphic, and Kipling's Jungle Stories for the Pall Mall Budget. Aldin also published Dogs of Character 1927, the Romance of the Road 1928, and An Artist's Models 1930. He exhibited with the London Sketch Club and at the RBA who elected him a member in 1897. The British Sporting Art Trust held a loan exhibition of Cecil Aldin’s work at the Leicestershire Museum and Art Gallery; the Alpine Gallery, London; Sotheby’s, West Sussex; and in Paris in 1990/91.
