The rules are slightly complex until you get a feel for them, but once you do, it moves along well enough.What I like the most (in contrast to the complaint that the combat system is too abstract) is that this game _doesn't_ drag the solitaire player down into tactical minutia, which would drag the game out way beyond its own threshold (It is, after all, a solitaire game and meant to move along fairly quickly, not become Call of Duty). In fact, it quickly becomes obvious when you play that your goal as a player is to avoid combat most of the time, so the combat system is nicely abstracted and doesn't get into things like rates of fire or weapon caliber, etc. All of that is summarized into round whole numbers that let you resolve combat in a flash and then move on to the next mission.
