Description: Here is an original early 1900s snapshot photo of cellist Bruno Steindel, it is identified Bruno Steindel - Cellist at the bottom. From what I found online: A world famous musician, Bruno Steindel was first cellist for the Berlin Philharmonic from 1889-1891 under Hans von Bulow, as well as Brahms, Strauss, and Rubinstein. He left Berlin after being hand-picked by Theodore Thomas to join the Theodore Thomas Orchestra (later renamed the Chicago Symphony Orchestra) in its first season. In his twenty-seven year tenure with the CSO, he was first, solo, and principal cellist. It is 3.5" x 5.75", postcard size, and was from an old photo album with items ranging circa 1915 – 1920s. It has some wear from age and some discoloration on the back, see the photos for the exact condition. Buyer pays $4.50 shipping within the US.
