Please see photos; the label looks nearly identical to the label for this record on the Library of Historical Audio Recordings website (i78s.org). The label reads: E. Berliner’s Gramophone, Patented Nov 8, 1887 May 15, 1888 – May 6, 1890 Feb’y 19, 1895 – Oct 29, 1895 Other patents applied for: Jun 18 1897 New York x-15 “Narcissus” nevins Banjo Solo by Vess Ossman 464 The bulk of the label (the upper portion) is printed. The portion of the label “x-15” down to “Vess Ossman” is scratched in by hand. The “464” at the very bottom of the label is etched/incised/stamped. The back of the record is blank. “Nevins” is for Ethelbert Nevin, who wrote the “Narcissus” melody. Sorry but I have not tested this record. We are a smoke-free/pet-free home.
