I think they can be played that way or you can have the immensely rhythmic, propulsive, and intensely unique performances here. Beethoven is the main subject here for me, I could talk for days (and indeed I do) about the traits of Michelangeli's art, but I'm concerned about the compositions. They're Beethoven, brilliant, almost too brilliant. I sacrifice my whole life to being able to grasp the genius of the great composers such as him and therefore we should be delighted these two Italians combined for a masterful grasp of these great works. Let's not compare them to other great versions. Listen to the vision of two of the greatest artists to have been on this planet and enjoy.
