Weaver mounting rails have slots that are .180” wide and do not necessarily have a consistent spacing between the grooves. Picatinny slots are .206” wide with a center-to-center groove width of .394”. Picatinny accessories will not fit on a Weaver rail, but Weaver accessories will fit on a Picatinny rail. 2-Piece: One base section is mounted on the forward ring portion of the receiver, while a second separate base section is mounted on the receiver behind the ejection port. Often referred to as a Redfield Senior (Sr) style. 1-Piece: The base is a single unit that bridges from the front of the receiver (ring portion) to the rear (behind the ejection port).
