On carbon arrow shafts, wraps avoided the problem of having a gluey mess to scrape off the carbon. When it was time to re-fletch, the wrap made it easier to peel it all away and start fresh. Frustrated at the cost of arrow wraps at my local sporting goods store, I started making them at home in my garage.
