Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE ANTIQUE PALE BLUE ENAMEL 100% HAND PAINTED BEAUTIFUL WOMAN & DOVE PORTRAIT BOX This is a beautiful little round, pill, snuff or patch box decorated with hand-painting. So tiny and yet such a beautiful work of art. This particular piece has been in my personal collection since the year 2012. The box in my photos is the actual piece you will receive. Please be sure to read the “AGE AND CONDITION” and “Approximate Dimensions” paragraphs below. The enamel decoration on this box is very charming and well done on a pale blue background. The top of the box is painted with a white dove delivering a love note to a beautiful woman. The bottom of the box is painted with a scene of a bridge over a stream. It is very skillfully done by a very talented artist, is all 100% hand painted and is a nice quality little box and a true work of art. I believe this box is French made. Limoges, France was a center for beautiful enamel work for centuries. I find no identifying markings on the box and from the finish on the metal do not believe this is made of silver or gold; the visible metal is probably polished or plated brass and the enameling is possibly done over copper. Regardless, a beautiful little piece. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. It is in excellent to near mint original condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. I see no loss, chips, cracks, scratches or repairs to the enamel, only some extremely light signs of age-related use, which is exactly what I would expect to see on an enamel piece of this age. I see no dents, dings or breaks to the metal, only a bit of tarnish that would be expected on a piece of this age. The hinge is nice and tight and the box opens, closes and latches crisply just as it should. Really in nice condition. Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. Approximate Dimensions About 1.875” (4.8 cm) in diameter at the widest point and sits about .875” (2.2 cm) off the table. Approximate Weight About 1.625 ounces (47 grams).
