Description: A charming early victorian-era staffordshire shepherd figure. The shepherd is resting against a tree with his shepherds crook in hand, his trusty spaniel on one side and his sheep and the other. The colors on this piece are very rich - a deep cobalt blue jacket with gilded trim, bright orange trousers, a pink hat, brown spaniel spots, and a cheerful light green mound & tree. Circa 1840-1860. The pice is in very good antique condition with paint loss primarily limited to the shepherds hair, the sides of the base, and the orange trousers (pictured). There may be some minimal breakage/loss of the shredded clay bocage of the tree but it is primarily intact and difficult to tell for certain without greater magnification than I have available. Approximate dimensions are 9" H x 7" W x 4" D.
