Description: Antique LIMOGES CORONET FRANCE Signed Hand Painted Morning Glory Plate Gold Rim. This beautiful, hand painted decorative plate has an image of a morning glory vine and blossoms against a cream colored background. A gold Arts and Crafts stylized swirl and rim accent the edge and handles. Produced and decorated by Mandavy de Mavaleix (1908-1920) for export by Coronet, Limoges, France, this decorative plate has the distinct shape of a cake plate. No chips, cracks or damage of any kind. This piece has an interesting combination of Victorian/Edwardian form and Arts and Crafts/Art Deco hand painted decoration. It’s a unique transitional piece between eras. 11 1/2 inches from handle to handle and 10 3/4 inches across. In fantastic condition with just some adhesive residue on the back where a tag had been.
