Description: Antique 19th- early 20th century Jasperware biscuit barrel, unmarked, could be made by Wedgwood or W. Adams & Co. The jar has a swing handle above the removable lid, both marked EPNS. The raised Jasperware figures depict “The Dancing Hours" Greek muse goddess pattern. While both Wedgwood and Adams made Jasperware using the “Dancing Hours” pattern, I believe that this example was made by Wedgwood. I base this on the “W” found on the rim of the base. There would be no reason for an Adams piece to have an impressed “W.” However, others may disagree so I am listing both possibilities. Either way, the quality of the figures is lovely and can be appreciated irrespective of the actual maker. The item is an antique and sold as is. It may show wear, fading, firing imperfections, pitting, staining, chips, cracks and damage from wear. In particular, I note that the EPNS has worn from the lid and handle as shown in photos. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
