Description: Object: Imari plate from the early to mid-Edo period (Genroku era, around 1700), decorated in underglaze blue as well as overglaze enamels and gold. Decoration: In the centre, a stylised landscape. Around the rim, four reserves: two with abstract decoration, two with dragons. Size: Diameter 21 cm (8.5"). Marks: "Dai Min kasei nen sei" in Japanese kanji characters (underglaze blue) - a spurious Ming Jiajing reign mark. State: Excellent - no chips, cracks or repairs.
