Description: This 4 gallon stoneware open-top crock was manufactured sometime in the early 20th century. Due to its age and the grouping it was acquired with, this piece is mostly likely from one of the unnamed/unmarked Midwest companies that made up Monmouth Pottery, as it greatly resembles their Colonial line with its two-tone glaze over very dense stoneware. This piece does NOT bear a maker's mark. It measures 11 1/2" high, 11" in diameter, and 16 lbs. This item is in good condition but does show signs of wear on the handles and along the bottom.
