Description: ANTIQUE GEORGIAN SOLID SILVER SAUCE LADLE. EDINBURGH 1822 SILVERSMITH: FORREST & CO. This is a sold sterling silver sauce ladle made by Forrest & Co and hallmarked Edinburgh 1822. The pattern is a version of Kings as shown on the handle and is typically Late Georgian. In excellent condition and with no damage, repair or restoration. The end of the handle is monogrammed. Please have a look at all of the photographs. Dimensions: Length - approx. 15.0 cm. (5.9 inch.). Bowl diameter - approx. 4.8 cm. (1.9 inch.). Weight: 38.5 grams. Marks: Stamped to the reverse of the handle with the hallmark which comprises of the Scottish Thistle, the Head of George IV facing right, the "Castle of Edinburgh" and the Date Letter 'q' for the Year 1822. Stamped alongside within a rectangle is 'FORREST.' for Forrest & Co. The end of the handle is monogrammed - possibly 'DMJ'.( Decide for yourself from the photos!) Condition: Excellent. No damage, repair or restoration. No obvious signs of wear or use.
