Description: An antique English snuff box with a portrait medal/medallion of the Duke of Wellington in the lid. The medallion is possibly gilt gold over copper - you can see the underlying base metal where the gold has worn. The outside of the box is black and probably wood and the interior is a very smooth slightly translucent material - possibly faux shell or horn. The box is approximately 3.25 inches diameter and has the aforementioned wear to the gilding, some old traces of residue inside, some cracking to the internal lining, and some shelf wear to the bottom.
