ITEM DESCRIPTION DescriptionUp for your consideration is a finely detailed original gilt bronze sculpture by Emile Guillemin (1841 - 1907). The piece depicts a soldier in parade uniform, with a sword and some objects in his hand. It is heavy for its size, and the gilt is bright and intact. It is signed on the base, and is further mounted on a painted wood base (original). SizeThe sculpture measures 9" tall, and 3" wide. The wood base adds another 1.75" ConditionOverall, the piece is in excellent condition, free of losses or restorations (uncommon for this type of piece). The sword is straight and the tip of the flag is correct and not bent. The ebonized wood base has an age crack (as shown).
