The top canopy is 5 1/2 inches. We wire a plug on temporarily so you are able to see it lit up the plug is not included. It has been wired with cloth covered gold wire and can be wired to an electric box and switch. We hung it from a bridge lamp frame just to take photos, the frame is not included.
