BEAUTIFUL CHINESE BRONZE ZUN URN / VASE DIMENSIONS About 11" x 4" x 6" across the handles DESCRIPTION Wonderful archaistic Han-style Chinese zun bronze vase. Rectangular sections. Flared neck with handles formed of mythical beasts with loose rings. Inscribed with archaic Chinese script below the rim. Bulging midsection with gu taotie images. Very heavy with rich verdigris bronze patina. Embossed dragon marks on the bottom. Barring a thermoluminescence test of some of the surface elements, I know of no way to precisely date it. The weight and patina suggest that it is an early one. So I'm selling (and pricing) it as a late 19th / early 20th century vase, probably Qing Dynasty. If it turns out that it's much older than that, say Han Dynasty or so, then lucky you! CONDITION Overall excellent. Rich dark bronze patina. No defects noted. A WONDERFUL CHINESE BRONZE VASE.
