Description: From the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch farming communities nestled among the rolling hills of Lancaster County Pennsylvania Offered for sale: An antique blacksmith made wrought iron and brass long handled ladle with a hearth hanging hook at its end. Most likely made in the 1800s -- possibly earlier. The bowl is attached to the handle with three very secure rivets and a cross piece of iron that supported it securely as it ladled out countless hearty meals over its lifetime. It is a beautiful, primitive piece that would look wonderful hanging from your own hearth or in your farmhouse kitchen amongst your other primitive utensils. Approximate measurements: 21 inches Long 5 inch diameter bowl 1 and 1/2 inches deep. As to be expected, it has plenty of age appropriate surface wear and some oxidation. Please review all the photographs carefully, as they really are the best description, to determine if this wonderful wrought iron and brass ladle meets the criteria to join your collection.
