Antique 31” Bisque Head French Market Simon & Halbig 949 Original Wig

Description: This beautiful antique bisque head French Market 949 can’t take a bad picture. She really has exceptional modeling to her head as well as exceptional painting. She has thick multi-stroke eyebrows, painted top and bottom eyelashes and deep brown sleep eyes that work perfectly. She also has an open mouth with four early straight cut teeth. You can also see she has pierced ears. She is marked on the back of her head S 17 1/2 H and beneath that are the numbers 949. She wears her original brown curly mohair wig that has never been removed. Her body is a desirable chunky straight wrist French Belton body. Her body looks to be in very nice condition with typical chips here and there but very sturdy and I would consider her to be in very nice condition. She comes to you wearing antique white cotton pantaloons with eyelet trim at the hemline and lace features on each leg with insert ribbon tied into bows on each leg. Her full slip matches the pantaloons with the lace featured at the hemline with the same insert ribbon tied into a bow on the side as well. Outer dress is a very fancy silk and taffeta long sleeve dress with very fancy design of crochet in different patterns. Really pretty. Over that is a printed velvet lined taffeta pinafore with velvet bows featured at the hemline. She is wearing a little brass decorative pin in the middle at the bodice and you cannot see her locket necklace she wears underneath her dress. Her socks are antique black stockings with black antique button up leather shoes with original buttons. On her head is a fancy lined wired stand-up bonnet tied with the same pink ribbon velvet used on her dress. There is a big pink feather on her bonnet. I have looked her head over carefully and I see no damage to her bisque at all. All this girl needs is a good face washing as she has been displayed behind a cabinet for many years.
