Description: PLEASE VIEW ALL (13) PICTURES POSTED TO THE LISTING. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BUYING. This listing for an Antique 1848 J.C. Brown 8 Day Ripple Front / Beehive clock. It measures 19" high by 10 3/4" wide by 4" deep. This came from a very eclectic collector who smoked a pipe and has his house full of Antiques. I bought a few clocks from him. There may be some hint of pipe smoke from being in his house. The inside of the gears are marked Forestville. The paper inside reads Bristol Conn. The paper inside has some flaking with a few pieces that came off that i have and will send along. The glass in front has no chips or cracks. The knob in front has the lock on the inside to keep the door closed. The gears inside are in very nice clean condition. When i move the gong striker over, the gears turn and it strikes the gong. When i turn the hands gear in front, the gears turn freely. The springs inside are not broken and appear to be in the relaxed position. Please note that it is missing the hands, front plate, and pendulum. There is no key. These parts are available on ebay right now. The cabinet is in very nice condition for being 176 years old. It does have some marks around and one area to mention that is in picture number 3 and 4. There has been no further testing of the clocks function except what is mentioned above.
