Size 6" x 6" or 152mm 152mm A Rarely seen tile from Minton Hollins & Co especially on a red clay body. This design can be attributed to E. W Goodwin who started as an Architect and later turned to design and was responsible for many pieces of Auethetic Movement furniture this pattern can be seen in his book Aesthetic Movement Architect and Design by Susan Weber Soros. I have added some photos. The design is slightly raised to touch and is finished with a fabulous translucent glaze which was difficult to capture in the photo's. A fine example for any collection. They recently came out of a cast iron victorian fireplace here in north wales. Condition is near perfect with just three tiny black spots near the top right corner and a tiny amount of surface wear to the bottom right corner.I have another seven in similar condition.
