Description: 1915 Maiden America doll, designed by Kate Silverman, made by The National Doll Company , distributed in 1918 by Tip Top Toy Company. She stands 8" tall, all composition jointed only at shoulders, painted molded hair, painted side glancing eyes, wrapped in a red, white and blue ribbon, had a paper label with dolls name and patent date. Advertised that you could "wash the doll anytime" (we don't recommend this - ever) which could explain why the Maiden America dolls are rather scarce.Top coat of face paint missing on sides of face, but not affect face. since listing her, she took a tumble and now has a repaired neck and a patch of 'skin' missing off her back shoulder- new photo attached. price greatly reduced~ Fun Doll to display for the National Holidays!
