Officially established in 1984, Airmen have deployed to support every federal contingency and numerous state emergencies since. The squadron was presidentially mobilized from 2001-2003 and is proud to be the FLANG’s heaviest tasked and deployed unit since 9/11, deploying over 700 Airmen around the planet. Airmen at the 290th are “All In” by: · Leading an ongoing rotation in CENTCOM every 18 months · Leading JCSE’s Global Response Force · Leading CNGB’s executive communications team · Leading 1 of 4 of JCSE’s Joint Task Force Headquarters Packages FEDERAL MISSION On order, the provides rapidly deployable, en route, early entry, and scalable command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) services capability across the full spectrum of operations to combatant commanders or other agencies as directed in order to facilitate rapid establishment of Joint Force Headquarters and bridge joint C4ISR requirements.
