Description: This AES London 4 string was made in 2016. At the time, this was the top end model. It has since been discontinued and the London is only available as a 5 string.This has a huge, deep dark rich tone. It sounds amazing acoustically, and plugged in as well. The one piece back is stunning.This has a fresh setup done by Anya Burgess at SOLA Violins in Lafayette, LA. She carved a new Despiau 3 tree bridge, planed the fingerboard, adjusted the pegs and fitted a new soundpost. The work was $500. It sounds and plays beautifully and is completely ready to go. It is currently strung with Prim Mediums.This fiddle was originally owned and played professionally by a fiddler named Coleman Smith. This helped contribute to its well developed and broken in sound. He only sold it to get a 5 string from Gary. It does show some wear on the top treble side points as pictured. No cracks or open seams anywhere - received a fully clean bill of health from SOLA Violins.I bought it to use for gigs where I had to plug in, but that band dried up and now it's not getting the play it should. This is a really great fiddle, and Gary's internal pickups sound SO MUCH better than any other pickup system out there.
