2 VINTAGE ORIGINAL BOHEMIAN-CZECHOSLOVAKIAN HAND PAINTED O.GARTNER GLASS CARAFES

Up for auction are 2 VINTAGE ORIGINAL BOHEMIAN-CZECHOSLO-VAKIOAN HAND PAINTED AMBER GLASS CARAFES BY O. GARTNER. The one price is for both Amber Carafes. These were made in the 1930's or 1940's and originally held Blackberry Brandy manufactured from Kord Distilleries in Czechoslovakia and imported to the USA. Each bottle is hand painted because although they look the same, the colors and backgrounds are of slightly different shades of color. Each bottle is signed "Hand Painted by Borokristal in Czechoslovakia, O. Gartner." All of the original paint is completely in tact with no paint missing anywhere on either bottle. Each carafe displays a very lively scene of one musician along with a couple in a celebratory dance in front of farm houses in the countryside. Each bottle was clearly hand made because they are quite different in measurements in both height and top opening and stoppers. I cannot find any mold marks but Bohemian Glass is noted for its supurb quality so it may have been hand blown into a mold or hand blown free style, but I don't know. Although one measures11 1/2 inches high and the other measures 12 inches high, both are about 6 inches at their widest, and both sit on a round base that is about 3 3/4 inches across. The shorter one has a top inside opening of 7/8 inches wide, while the taller one has a top inside opening of 1 1/8 inches wide and the 2 stoppers are NOT interchangeable with each other, but each fits perfectly in its own carafe. Each stopper and top opening are hand ground because each is quite different from the other. The smaller stopper is perfect but the larger stopper has some small chips on its bottom, as can be seen in the photographs. However, when the stopper is placed into the carafe, those tiny chips on its bottom cannot be seen at all. Although they were purchased from an old estate sale on Long Island and were pre-owned, both bottles are in absolutely wonderful condition, with only the tiniest scratches from normal wear. I guess that's because it sat on a shelf inside a closed dining room cabinet for many years, with only the tiniest scratches on their bottoms where they would be expected to be found commensurate with their age. I have been collecting unusual vintage objects for many years, and always try to describe the item as best as I can. There are absolutely no other flaws that I can see anywhere expected those tiny bottom scratches and the small chips to the larger stopper. There are no other chips, cracks, fleabites, scratches, stains, cloudiness, or repairs. For some reason the last 2 pictures look like clear glass due to the lighting, but I can assure you the bottoms are the same rich amber color as the rest of the bottle. They come from a smoke-free home. I only accept PayPal, and never charge extra for packaging and handling.
