1990 Kentucky Big Blue 18-card Uncut Sheet SEC College LSU SHAQUILLE O'NEAL

Description: Cleaning out my childhood room and was looking through my old collection and found this gem. Shaquille O'Neal's first basketball card on an uncut sheet with other SEC college greats. Sheet has been kept in a sheet with backing since I first bought it years ago. Set also includes not only Kentucky players, but who they considered their toughest opponents, including Shaquille O'Neal (LSU Tigers), Calbert Cheaney (Indiana), Rick Fox (UNC Tarheels), Allan Houston (Tennessee Vols), Litterial Green (Georgia), Indiana coach Bobby Knight, and North Carolina coach Dean Smith, plus Kentucky Wildcats cards of Coach Rick Pitino, Jamal Mashburn, RIck Farmer, Sean Woods, Jeff Brassow, Todd Bearup, Deron Feldhaus, and John Pelphrey, and also includes Louisville's Freedom Hall card. Did my research and learned that these were originally published in Oscar Combs' Big Blue Basketball Magazine, Spring 1991 (Volume 5 #1). Subscribers received the set in the center of the magazine as a sheet of 18 perforated cards. Combs and Wildcat News published the Cats' Pause which was a source for UK basketball information for fans before the internet. The magazine was printed around four times a year and sometimes included cards, posters or photos as a bonus. This issue had an original print run of 6000.
