Description: 1967 Exoto Ford GT40 Mk IV in Standox Kyalami FlashKyalami Flash, named after the South African circuit opened in 1961, lives up to its name. This fantastic lacquer finish changes color in a flash! Like the sometimes violent weather over South Africa, the deep blue surface transforms into an attractive grey clay and then without warning there are flashes of shocking red-gold color and brilliant violet. As light reflects on the brilliant surface the special pigments cause intense flares of color and shade.Having hosted its first Formula One race in 1967, the Kyalami circuit outside Johannesburg has seen its share of both glory and tragedy. In the premiere Grand Prix privateer John Love nearly scored what would have been the biggest upset in F1 history but was dashed by last minute fuel stop. Unforgettable battles included an exciting duel between Peterson and Depailler in 1978, and World Champion Nigel Mansell scored victories in 1985 and 1992. The circuit also saw tragedy in the deaths of Peter Revson and Tom Pryce, both driving for the Shadow team in the 1970s. Great for: Any collector!
