The painting is executed in oil paint on artist board and features energetic brushwork with wonderful use of colour. This composition is dynamic and spontaneous, demonstrating the utmost sophistication and artistic quality. The painting is accompanied by a second work, a self-portrait drawing of John Frances Williams drawn by the artist in ink and pastel. To the reverse of the self-portrait there is a partial figurative drawing by the artist. The painting measures approximately 20" height by 12" width in the frame. The painting's art surface measures approximately 16" height by 12" width. The self-portrait on paper measures approximately 12" height by 10" width. The painting is in excellent original condition and presents beautifully with no damages or adverse issues. The John Frances Williams self-portrait is in excellent original condition and is offered unframed as shown in the photo. The wood frame is original and may have some basic light indications of time or use. The two John Frances Williams works were acquired together through the artist's estate. Consistent with the abstract expressionism style, the painting is not signed. The 2 works will be accompanied by documents, a biography and critique of the artist's work.
