Originally this camshaft was used in 1957-1961 Corvettes with 283 270 and 290hp engines and 1957-1959 Chevrolet passenger cars with 2x4 and FI engines. Elgin part number is E-900P and the original GM number was 3736097. The specs are as followes: Lift: Intake .395 Exhaust .401 The original Chevrolet camshaft was .394/.400. This is the only difference between the two. Duration @.050 228/230 If you are restoring a vintage Corvette or building a period correct 283 and want the unique sound of solid lifters this is the cam for you.
