Description: 1936 French Elections Original Lithographed Poster - Popular Front Alliance A good lithographed poster printed by Tolmer for the 1936 French Legislative Elections “Vous ne Voters Pas Pour Ça!..” (You Wont Vote for This), showing a 5 franc coin sliced into pieces with some very angry-looking birds hovering nearby. The 1936 elections saw the new Popular Front Government of the Left sweep to power under the leadership of Léon Blum. Composed of a fragile alliance of the French Section of the Workers International, The Radical Socialists and the French Section of the Communists International, and they only stayed in power until 1937. Approx. 590x350mm., an old (coffee?) stain to lower right side and border, a few peripheral nicks/small tears to the periphery, though overall in a pretty good state. A rare survivor with eye-catting graphics.
