It is dated June 9, 1932. On May 6, 1932, French President Paul Doumer was in Paris at the opening of a book fair at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, talking to author Claude Farrère. Several shots were fired by a Russian émigré striking Doumer. He died the next day and his assassin met the lady Guillotine four months later. A long running series, France printed this design 10 Francs note from 1916 during World War I with various signature combinations until 1937. And then again from 1939 until 1942 during World War II.
