His contract card says he played as far back as 1895. A member of the Pacific Coast League in 1903 and 1904, he had 252 hits, including 38 doubles and 14 triples, in 781 at-bats (.322 BA) over 193 games between two clubs the former year and 243 hits, including 52 doubles and 11 triples in 859 at-bats (.283 BA) in 217 games for the Seattle Siwashes the latter. He led the league in doubles in 1904 and won batting titles in the 1911 and 1912 Cotton States League. A few years later, in 1909, he batted .314 in 111 games between two clubs and in 1911, he hit .401 with 36 doubles, 9 home runs and a .602 slugging mark in 102 games for the Hattiesburg Woodpeckers. In 1912, he hit .349. He also took the mound a few times in his career.In 1911, he was the second of two managers for the Hattiesburg Woodpeckers, replacing B.D. Moore. Baseball Reference also lists him as managing the Vicksburg Hill Billies that year. In 1912, he led the Hattiesburg Timberjacks/Columbus Joy Riders, leading them to a 56-59, 4th place finish. In 1913, he was the first of two managers for the Meridian Metropolitans, being replaced by Walter Hirsch. He finished that season as the manager of the Clarksdale Swamp Angels, replacing Edward Kerr.
