Red cloth boards with silver tooled decoration on cover, beveled board edges, unpaginated (90+), pages are heavy cream cardstock with deep red printing and decoration (most have 4 days per page). Condition: as seen - The book has a beautiful front cover (silver tooling still fresh) with lightly bumped corners. The spine is cracked/partially missing, very little wear to the edges. The interior is in great shape with fresh, bright decoration by Walter Crane (1845-1915) English illustrator, painter, and designer. He produced paintings, illustrations, ceramic tiles and other decorative arts, but was primarily known for his illustrations of children's books. Crane was one of the most popular Victorian illustrators of children's books, and one of the earliest exponents of the colored picture book. Aside from a few pencil marks on the end papers, there are no markings, tears or dog ears throughout the book. The pages have light discoloration from age along the edges.
