IV) that introduced wide-ranging changes to the electoral system of England and Wales. According to its preamble, the act was designed to "take effectual Measures for correcting divers Abuses that have long prevailed in the Choice of Members to serve in the Commons House of Parliament". CONDITION In a half-vellum binding. Externally, rubbed, with some slight wear to the extremities and light spotting. Hand-written spine label. Hinges are strained. Internally, generally firmly bound although strained in places. Ink signatures to front endpaper. Pages are bright, though with some handling marks, and instances of foxing.
