AAAAA means ready for play with no nicks or scuffs, surface is clean of abrasions or any flaw that can be felt, most balls may have player ink marks or logos as the AVX is played by the more serious golfers who mark their ball in accordance with the rules of golf. They were introduced as a ball for the accomplished golfer interested in a softer feel than the ProV1. Some balls may have tiny scratches and some may have slight discoloration from exposure to the sun or the red clay based soil in CT. I would not describe any used golf ball as "Mint" since as soon as a ball is used it starts to acquire small scratches and very tiny defects.
